- Captain Kevin Stier is the owner and operator of River Cruises with his wife, Carrie. River Cruises operates the 149 passenger Riverboat TWILIGHT that offers two-day overnight cruises on the Upper Mississippi River. Kevin began his river career working for Captain Dennis Trone. Kevin apprenticed under Captain Trone, earning his 100 Ton Masters while piloting the Str. JULIA BELLE SWAIN. Kevin piloted the JULIA BELLE SWAIN for several summers on the Illinois River until the construction of the Riverboat TWILIGHT. Captain Stier currently holds a 1600-ton Master of Great Lakes and Inland Waterways on its 5th issue. In January of 2006 Kevin and his wife purchased the Riverboat TWILIGHT from Captain Trone who has since passed away in May of 2008. They operate the TWILIGHT on the Upper Mississippi river between the Quad-Cites and Dubuque IA. The have two children, Emily 17 yrs and Jacob 14 yrs, who enjoy spending their summers working on the TWILIGHT.
